Services
Each service that Health Care Cost Recovery, Inc. offers assists in the conversion of self-pay accounts to Medicaid dollars. Multilingual interpreting is included with all services at no additional cost to the contracted facility.
Medicaid Account Conversion
- A representative will meet the referred client within 24 hours if still hospitalized in the contracted facility
- Will assess for Medicaid eligibility, when eligible the Medicaid Application is delivered to appropriate County Department of Human Services the same day
- Provide all services necessary to successfully complete Medicaid case and have Medicaid activated to cover services at the contracted facility
- If referred client is not eligible for Medicaid, referral is sent back to Patient Financial Services

Obtaining Documentation
- A representative can take over a case after the initial appointment, obtain documentation and complete case within 10 days
- This includes meeting with clients, facility staff, community outreach, and requesting/retrieving necessary documents from various sources
- This service frees up facility staff so that they may start and complete more cases with a greater success rate

Maintaining Client Records

- A representative will meet client while inpatient to determine Medicaid eligibility
- If eligible for Medicaid, application will be filed that day (or next possible business day) and receipt delivered to the facility

Document Delivery Service
- A representative will pick up documentation daily from contracted facility and deliver to appropriate County Department of Human Services
- Receipts for each case will be provided within 24 hours of pick-up
Charity Care Application
- Contracted facility can choose to refer client to Health Care Cost Recovery, Inc. for completion of the Charity Care application. HCCRI will meet client in the facility or community to complete application. A $250.00 flat fee to be paid to HCCRI upon successful completion of the application.
